Great Day at the Maryland State FLL Championship

Mr. O. - OwlBots Coach

The Woods Academy Robotics Teams spent nearly 12 hours on Saturday at the Maryland State FIRST Lego League Robotics Championship.  The results were impressive.  In just their second season the Green Machine received 3rd place in the Core Values category of Gracious Professionalism.  The OwlBots received the Third Place Champions Award.  This means in just their fourth season the OwlBots have become the third best middle school robotics team in Maryland - that's out of 314 teams state-wide.

I want to give a special note of thanks to our 8th graders who will be moving on next year: Noah, Winston, Sarah, Jack, Anthony, and Jonah.  Your dedication and skills have made the Woods Academy Robotics program a winner.  I also want to thank my co-coaches, Mr. Smith and Ms. Cunnane, without whom none of this would have been possible.  Finally, I want to thank our snack coordinators, Ms. McCormick, Ms. Capuano, and Ms. Morgan, for supplying the fuel that kept our teams working for all those long hours.
